At our main hub in Bahrain, dedicated personnel provide 24 hour coverage for all transit cargo, so transfer is both smooth and swift. That means a container arriving in Bahrain from London, for instance, can be on its way to Abu Dhabi, Cairo, Jeddah, Kuwait or Dubai within our minimum connecting parameters.

Cargo Air Consignment Note (CACN)

The unaccompanied courier service has been implemented to provide customers such as DHL, UPS, FedEx, Aramex and TNT with effective services to ensure easy and fast customs clearance at the destination and therefore quick delivery to the end customer.

The service offers priority uplift and confirmed allocation on the required flight. Courier bags or units can be moved as cargo or as excess baggage. Couriers are handled on a priority basis, being the last material to be loaded and the first to be offloaded at the final destination.

Express

Gulf Air was the first airline in the Middle East to offer an express airfreight service. And because we consistently offer the fastest and most reliable express service, we are the acknowledged leaders in express freight to the Middle East.

We know there are times when you have urgent shipments that you need forwarded on a priority basis. That's why we've introduced an expedited cargo product that offers a delivery and pick up time of just 90 minutes.

The Gulf Air Express freight service offers:

    Pre-alert telex when goods are ready for collection

    And for extra peace of mind, our state-of-the-art online tracking service keeps rack of your delivery every step of the way

Time defined products are offered at a premium charge of +50% of normal market rate or +25% of the market rate, depending on the urgency.

 Gulf Air’s General Air Freight encompasses a variety of products. From Dangerous Goods to Live Animals to Perishable Cargo to Hard Cargo and everything in between. Our product line has been designed to provide you value for money backed with experts providing exceptional service. It is available on all flights to all destinations we serve.

Our comprehensive computerized cargo systems monitor your consignment every step of the way from origin to destination and all stations in between.

Live Animals

All live animals on Gulf Air travel as cargo and as Gulf Air has always gone that little bit further for its customers, an online air waybill tracking service is provided for your peace of mind, so you know where your precious cargo is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

And when your pets fly with Gulf Air, they no longer have to endure the six month quarantine period in the EU when shipped directly from Bahrain, provided they have already been vaccinated against rabies and micro-chipped.

The acceptance of live animal consignments is subject to the conditions as described in the IATA's Live Animals Regulations and to Gulf air Regulations which are closely related to the type of animals, type of aircraft, temperature at origin, en-route and destination, and availability of animal attendant. The conditions applicable to acceptance of live animals are as follows:

a) Health and condition of animals: Animals in a consignment must not show any sign of illness. They must be well fed and watered. The carriage of animals in an advanced state of pregnancy is generally prohibited.

b) Packing: Packing must be clean, leak-proof and escape-proof to allow safe handling during carriage. A special "Live Animals" label shall be affixed with the handling instructions completed.

c) Food and additional articles: Additional articles such as food accompanying the shipment must be included in the chargeable weight and if being shipped as separate pieces, marked as forming part of the shipment.

d) Reservations: Confirmation must have been received of reserved space on flights and possible connecting flight(s) of other airlines up to the airport of destination.

e) Consolidation: Live animals may not be consolidated with other goods but a consolidated shipment may be wholly composed of live animals.

f) Documents: Import permit, Health documents, Shipper's Certification for Live Animals are generally required for every shipment of live animals.

g) Live Animals on Gulf Air will only be accepted as Cargo under master airway bill.

A live animal shipment at a lower standard than those described in the IATA Live Animals Regulations is not acceptable.

Perishable Goods

                                            
Gulf Air services the growth markets of the Gulf, Middle East, Europe, Indian Subcontinent and Far East by providing special handling for perishable cargo such as fresh meat, seafood, fruit, vegetables and flowers. This is achieved through new freezer and cool room facilities to ensure perishable consignments are handled and delivered to customers in excellent condition.
 
Valuable / Vulnerable

                                          
We have an impressive history safeguarding your valuable goods such as bank notes, gold, jewellery and diamonds, which are all treated with the greatest of care. These consignments are kept in a maximum security locker and safeguarded at all times.
 
Automobiles

                                          
Automobiles are accepted for transportation on wide-body aircraft. The vehicles must be accompanied by a "Shipper's Declaration for Dangerous Goods" and a vehicle inspection form must be completed by the station of origin and destination, ensuring the car is in good condition throughout the journey.
 
Unaccompanied Bags

                                        
Gulf Air offers an unaccompanied baggage service on all its routes to passengers holding an international ticket, allowing personal effects to be sent ahead to the destination. We also offer a state of the art online air waybill tracking service for added peace of mind so you can track your cargo every step of the way.
